ICAN Exemption fee and registration process 2024

ICAN Exemption fee and registration process 2024

We explained the steps you can follow in registering for ICAN exemption in 2024. You can do this either by PayDirect or via their online payment platform. If you follow through, you will understand this process. To begin, let's explain a few things you should know before applying for an exemption.

What you should know before applying for ICAN exemption

First of all, you must have registered as a student before you can apply for an exemption from the Institute. You can learn more about registration over here

After a successful registration, a registration number will be issued to you. Next, is the qualification for exemption. Not everyone registered as a student of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria can apply for this privilege.

Therefore, you should find out if you qualify for an exemption. A Bachelor of Science degree in accounting will be qualified for exemption of up to five papers. That is papers in foundation and auditing and assurance in skill levels. This implies that the B.Sc accounting graduate will not write exams for the aforementioned papers. Another thing you should know is the exemption fee. That is a sum of 80,100 Naira excluding bank charges. You can use this link to know the right amount you should pay for the exemption. Next, as a B.Sc holder in accounting you should also get your reference (who will sign as a guarantor), school certificate, and your NYSC discharge letter ready.
